He came to Chicago in 2016 after working with the missions organization YWAM, where he developed a desire for studying scripture that led him to begin his studies at Moody Bible Institute. He is currently finishing up his undergraduate in Theology.

Cylas began attending Village early on in his studies and very soon after married the love of his life, Mackenzie, in the winter of 2017. Mackenzie is finishing up her Communications\Bible undergraduate at moody as well, and is currently working at Moody Publishers.

Following in the vision cast by Village Church, Mackenzie and Cylas desire to see Ukrainian village and the surrounding Chicago area transformed by the love of Christ. Their desire is to see this community begin to support and love one another in a way that resembles a family. Cylas personally has a dedication to Bible centered, God fearing worship, that does not simply raise the emotion of the congregation but actually prepares and centers them to hear and be transformed by the Word of God."
